On November 16, the Foundation will hold a closing seminar at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. H. M. Queen Silvia's Foundation - Care About the Children was started in connection with the Queen's 70th birthday. For the application period of 2023, five re-applying projects and three new projects were awarded grants. All projects promote children and young people's rights to an education, have their fundamental righs met, and safer everyday life both online and offline Sweden and internationally. Queen Silvias’ Foundation grants support to two new and sex re-applying organisations

The grants of fall 2022, were awarded two new projects and six re-applying projects, working to ensure that children and young people have their fundamental rights met thorugh receiving psychosocial support, education, safer off and online everyday life, both in Sweden and abroad. Seminar on Children’s Mental Health from a Global Perspective with WarChild, UNICEF and the SIGHT-network

On June 1, the International Children's Day, the SIGHT Networks for Global Child Health and Mental Health teamed up with H.M. Queen Silvia's Foundation to address the issue of children and youths mental health alongside about 30 stakeholders. Karolinska Institutet, War Child Sweden, UNICEF Sverige and the UNICEF Innovation office presented their latest work and findings. Given that the latest reports from UNICEF show that suicide is the second cause of death for children and youth aged 10-19 in Europe and the fourth cause of death globally for the same age group, this issue is so very important to children......

On the fourth of May, Care About the Children organized an informal network meeting for 22 of the organisations that receive, or have previously received, financial support for their work with children and young people's mental health. The 22 organisations that were invited work in different ways to counteract mental illness in children and young people both in Sweden and internationally.    The meeting intended to promote collaborations between the organisations and highlight the different methods and approaches they use to achieve a better mental health in children and young people. Two new projects and five re-applying projects have been granted financial support for the application round of spring 2022. In addition, three organizations working with the Ukraine-crisis were granted emergency-support for their work in the region as well as in Sweden. On March 25th, HHMM the King and Queen of Sweden and the Crown Princess couple invited experts from swedish civil society organisations working with the Ukraine crisis to an emergency meeting the Royal Palace.   The purpose of the meeting was to share experiences to encourage collaboration between the organizations in order to strengthen children’s security and protection. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, over three million people have had to flee their homes. Every day, hundreds of refugees travel from Gdańsk to Nynäshamn and from Świnoujście to Ystad in Sweden – and as of 24th of March, over 20 000 refugees have crossed the Baltic Sea to seek refuge in Sweden.  H.M. Queen Silvia Foundation - CATCH has decided to support the aid organization Ukrainian Aid - Children in Need, which cooperates with the Polish company Polferries.
